At Vanity Fair’s Power of Women event, Harris introduced Donna Langley on stage with praise for her advocacy work and her successful career as a studio executive. After Biden announced his pick, Langley told Variety, “Kamala demonstrates a level of passion, grace and grit, that separated her from the pack. I’ve always believed in her leadership and she is the right VP candidate to face the challenges our country has ahead of us.”Vanity Fair reported that Langley has supported Harris since around the time of her bid for attorney general in 2010. Other top NBC executives such as Jeffrey Katzenberg and Jeff Shell have put their support behind Harris. The LA Times reported that Katzenberg, the former DreamWorks Animation top dog, donated $2,800 to Harris’ presidential campaign in 2o19. Tech sitcoms that you should binge

tech sitcoms that you should binge

BEGIN ARTICLE PREVIEW:

Comedy shows continue to dominate mainstream television entertainment as newer genres keep emerging. Tech comedy has gained massive popularity in the mainstream media, alongside the rise of big tech. The most popular ones are about science fiction served with nihilist humour, struggles of a tech start-up, and general day to day struggles of IT guys in a regular office environment.
Unfortunately, much like gender disparity in the tech industry itself, the tech comedy shows have a severe lack of representation of women in its cast and the lack of female presence as leads on tech comedies in present too. The only show featuring women in tech, The Developers, is currently in post-production, and it’s a drama series, not a comedy. Regardless of the lack of gender inclusivity that we hope changes soon, here are some classic and hilarious tech comedies to watch.
Silicon Valley
It’s a show set in San Franciso, California, about an aspiring tech and his eternal struggle to establish a venture in the global centre of the tech industry, Silicon Valley. Throughout the 6 seasons, the show makers try their best to create a parody of the Silicon Valley culture. The protagonist of the show is a programmer, …

Mentoring and sponsorships are key to helping women amplify their voices, one expert says.

When it comes to job hunting, research has shown that men, on average, will apply for jobs even if they only meet a few of the eligibility requirements—while women typically won’t go for the position unless they are 100% qualified.
“Look at the fact that Kanye is running for president,” says Katharine Mobley, global chief marketing officer at First Advantage. “Men apply for jobs they’re not qualified for, while women don’t take the initiative.”
That speaks to a much larger, systemic issue that is being magnified by the coronavirus pandemic: Women aren’t doing enough to advocate for themselves.
Katharine Mobley
“We as women don’t shout our accomplishments loud enough and we need to learn to do that better,” Mobley says. “We tend to be more timid because it feels self-serving to us and it feels foreign.”
That’s where mentoring can come in.
Mentoring has long been a part of her professional career—since she connected with healthcare marketing executive Cynthia Porter decades ago.
“She had some amazing insights into being a woman in business and tech and taught me a …
