Sen. Kelly Loeffler of Georgia tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday and is quarantining, her campaign announced in a statement on Saturday.
Loeffler is currently campaigning in a high-stakes race that could determine control of the Senate. She appeared at a campaign event on Friday with Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. David Perdue, who is also up for election in the runoff.
The statement said Loeffler took a test on Saturday that came back inconclusive and is waiting on more test results. The campaign said she has no symptoms and notified close contacts.
