in Pennsylvania, we are seeing our number of hospitalizations due to covert 19 increase significantly. The trend in the 14 day moving average of the number of hospitalized patients per day has increased by nearly 1700 since the end of September. Record high numbers of new co VID 19 cases are occurring across the state each day. Today we have 7126 new cases of Cove in 19. As you now know, there are three ways. Three tools in our two bucks to control an infectious disease outbreaks such as Cove in 19. They are containment mitigation and vaccines. Efforts to contain the virus are ongoing. Yesterday Director Huff Outlying testing and contact tracing efforts that address the containment process. On Tuesday, I announced four new mitigation efforts in the fight against Cove in 19. These include efforts to protect the health care system, a new traveler testing order, a strengthened mask order and recommendations for colleges and universities.
