Orsted wraps up 230MW Plum Creek in Nebraska

Orsted has completed the 230MW Plum Creek wind farm in the US state of Nebraska.
The project, located in Wayne County, comprises 82 GE 2.8-127 turbines and is Orsted’s first operational project in Nebraska.
Orsted has entered into agreements with a number of companies to purchase the power generated, including Vail Resorts, The JM Smucker Company and the Avery Dennison Corporation.

Plum Creek will also yield over $3m in local community benefits each year in the Wayne County area, including for the Norfolk and Windside school districts and other sectors such as emergency services, the local hospital and community college.
GE Energy Financial Services and BHE Renewables were tax equity providers to the project, while Blattner Energy also worked on the project.
Orsted onshore chief executive Neil O’Donovan said: “Thanks to our team working on this project and our dedicated partners for their focus and determination in delivering the project on schedule despite the very challenging circumstances we face today.
“Plum Creek is our first project in SPP (Southwest Power Pool) territory, a market which will play an important part of our ongoing growth in North America.
