Inc. 5000: More than 20 Scottsdale companies make ‘fastest-growing’ list

Out of an estimated 32.5 million businesses across the United States, Scottsdale is home to 21 of the fastest-growing companies.
Every year, Inc. Magazine in its September issue ranks the top 5,000 companies across the country, known as the Inc. 5000.
The greater Phoenix metro area is home to 99 of these top 5,000 companies — with 35 in Phoenix; 21 in Scottsdale; 13 in Mesa; 11 in Tempe; 10 in Chandler; and six in Gilbert.
The 99 Phoenix-area companies that made the list represents:

Median growth of 141%
Total revenue of $7.3 billion;
6,333 jobs added; and
66 repeat honorees.

The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a three-year period. These companies must be U.S.-based and privately held. Other qualifications include revenue in the initial year must have been at least $100,000; and revenue in the prior year before applying to the Inc. 5000 must have been at least $2 million.
Donning the list of Inc.’s annual ranking of 5,000 businesses includes No. 196, Scottsdale-based CellTrust Corp., a telecommunications company that reported 2,146% growth over three years. The company is creating products and services for the mobile communication sector, all growing from the Wests Most Western Town.
