If you have ever wondered how to automatically publish your WordPress posts to LinkedIn and expand your coverage to include this Social Network, then this tutorial is for you:
First you want to log into your WordPress account and visit your dashboard. On the dashboard menu you want to click to visit your plugins page. Once you are on your plugins page select that you want to “Add New” plugins.
When you arrive at the plugins search page search for XYZ SMAP. Click to install and activate the plugin. If you already have the plugin you may skip this step.
Next you will want to return to your main menu and search for Social Media Auto Publish and select Settings.

To create a new Linkedin application, go to https://www.linkedin.com/secure/developer?newapp
Click on the “Create Application” button.
In this page, enter the values in the required fields.
Here enter your company name, name of the application, description of app, application logo url. Select the application use from the drop down menu.
In the “Website URL”, enter your website url as given in the plugin settings page.
You will now get the Application Keys and it is given below.
Here the API key and Secret key are highlighted. Please use these values in the plugin Linkedin settings page.
In the OAuth 2.0 section you need to enter your authorized redirect url. The url is your wordpress admin url.
For example if you have installed the script in http://www.yoursite.com, the admin area is http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/ , the redirect URL is http://www.yoursite.com/wp-admin/admin.php
After entering the redirect URl, click on the “Add” button. If you forgot to click the add button, the redirect url won’t saved.
Now click the update button.
Next go to the “Settings” page.
The app is in “development” mode now and only the developer (you) can see the posts in linkedin. To make is live for public, please change the mode to “Live” and update the page.
Enter these values in the plugin linkedin settings page and “save and Authenticate” the app. Now you will get a confirmation like in the image and click on the “Allow Access”.
The LinkedIn application is now ready to use.
Now navigate to create a post. One you have created your post you can scroll down past the main edit box and you will see the Social Media Auto Publish settings box. Select your preferred settings and publish you post as normal. Now check your linked in timeline. WHAT, What? Yep, it’s there! You did it! Awesome job! You are now an information professional!
