CLINTON – Updates on the downtown area High Street reconstruction project will be shared with merchants, with the town is hiring a consultant to handle the communication.Selectmen last week approved a contract with Capital Strategic Solutions to handle community outreach support services.“It is a very complex job that has the possibility to impose a hardship on stakeholders in downtown,” Phil Duffy, director of the Office of Community and Economic Development, said of the project.The contract, with a total cost not to exceed $50,000 for the expected 45-week duration of the project, will include setting up a web page, as well as in-person communication and email blasts.It will include information on changes in the schedule and “communicate with local media to put out good words on the project” and include search engine optimization.In addition, “stakeholders can call with complaints and concerns.”“A role like this is going to be very valuable,” Selectman Ed Devault said.Selectman Matt Kobus asked if it was feasible for Duffy to have initial contact with the merchants.Duffy said the contract include a full week of mobilization.
