Coshocton Materials, owned by Melway Paving, recently opened the doors of its concrete plant.A gravel side is to running by first of the year and a showroom will be added with various items.The company has 12 employees from Coshocton County and sits on 300 acres, mostly for gravel mining.Officials said they opened the Coshocton site because they feel Coshocton is ripe for business expansion.COSHOCTON – Feeling that Coshocton is poised for a great expansion of business and industry has led Melway Paving of Holmesville to open Coshocton Materials.The new facility at 23674 County Road 621, behind Walmart, allows Melway, founded in 1964, to better serve and grow its client base in Coshocton County and the surrounding area, including Tuscarawas and Muskingum counties.The gravel side is still being developed, but the concrete manufacturing portion is operational with materials being brought in from other Melway sites. The gravel plant should be running by the first of the year.Melway has a concrete plant in Millersburg, asphalt plants in Holmesville and Lodi and gravel plants in Holmesville and Millersburg.Bruce St. Clair, operations manager for Melway, and Dale Dart, plant manager for Coshocton Materials, live in Coshocton County.
