Cisco seeks video-chat crown

It’s like I have ESPN or something.

Tech Chronicle readers will recall that it was only a few weeks ago that I suggested to Jeetu Patel, a top Cisco executive, that he bring back RuPaul as a celebrity endorser for its Webex video conferencing service.

Well, sure enough, Cisco is holding a conference Dec. 8-9 to promote Webex, with RuPaul headlining the event alongside human rights lawyer Amal Clooney. We get results around here!

“Amal Clooney and RuPaul stand for very specific things around equality in the world, around making sure that human rights are protected, and ensuring you can be different and be proud of the fact that you’re different,” Patel told Business Insider. “The fact that RuPaul also was … one of the people that had actually worked with us many, many years ago, was just icing on the cake,” he added.

RuPaul is, in fact, also an expert on cakes.
